How JOTT Is Shaping His Sound

For JOTT, music has never been about chasing trends or staying in one lane. It’s about
creating songs that make people feel something real. Every record begins with a simple
question: “What should people feel when they hear this?” That philosophy has become the

foundation of the Nigerian Afrofusion artist’s growing catalogue.

Born Amodu Habib Oluwagbemiga, JOTT sees music as a reflection of everyday life.
Rather than repeating the same formula, he allows each song to explore a different emotion
while remaining true to his identity. Whether it’s ambition, attraction, confidence or self-
belief, every release is designed to connect with listeners in a personal way.

That approach is evident across his recent releases. Sanko, featuring Nextee and released on
December 14, 2025, captures the excitement and chemistry of attraction through smooth
melodies and an infectious groove. Paper, produced by Scarlet Sound and released on
March 6, 2026, reflects the mindset of people relentlessly chasing their goals. FAYA
(IDAN), produced by Kuuka and released on June 19, 2026, embraces confidence, charisma
and fearless self-expression, revealing another side of JOTT’s artistry.

While each record carries its own mood, they are all connected by one purpose: to become
part of people’s lives. Whether someone is celebrating a win, pursuing a dream, falling in
love or simply looking for a song that matches the moment, JOTT wants his music to feel
honest, relatable and unforgettable.

As his catalogue continues to grow, JOTT isn’t searching for one signature sound. He’s
building a body of work that evolves with life itself, proving that the strongest identity isn’t
built by making the same song over and over again, but by making music that people can see
themselves in.

More Than Music: How EHRA Is Building a Legacy Through Afrobeat

EHRA: A Journey of Purpose, Persistence, and Musical Evolution

David Kator Iortyer, professionally known as EHRA, is a Nigerian Afrobeat and Afropop artist whose story reflects resilience, growth, creativity, and unwavering dedication to his craft. Born on August 22, 1998, in Makurdi, Benue State, EHRA represents a new generation of African artists who are blending authentic storytelling with contemporary sounds to create music that resonates across cultures and generations.

Growing up in Makurdi, EHRA developed an appreciation for music at an early age. The rich cultural heritage of Benue State, often celebrated as the "Food Basket of the Nation," played an important role in shaping his perspective on life, community, and artistic expression. While many young people dream of success, EHRA transformed his dreams into action through discipline, education, and relentless commitment to self-improvement.

His educational journey began at Nativity Private School, Makurdi, where he completed his primary education in 2009. He later attended Baptist High School, Makurdi, graduating in 2016. Rather than choosing between academics and music, EHRA pursued both with equal determination. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and Human Ecology from the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, graduating in 2021.

This academic achievement demonstrates an important aspect of EHRA's personality: his belief that success is built through knowledge, discipline, and hard work. While many aspiring artists struggle to balance education and entertainment, EHRA successfully managed both worlds, proving that artistic ambition and intellectual growth can coexist.

EHRA officially began recording music in 2017, marking the beginning of a journey that has now spanned nearly a decade. Over these years, he has experienced the challenges that every independent artist faces—limited resources, industry competition, and the constant pressure to evolve creatively. Yet these obstacles have not discouraged him; instead, they have strengthened his resolve and deepened his understanding of the music business.

His sound is rooted in Afrobeat and Afropop, genres that have become global cultural forces. Inspired by some of Africa's biggest stars, including Omah Lay, Burna Boy, Asake, Blaqbonez, Wizkid, and Ayra Starr, EHRA has developed a style that combines melodic storytelling, emotional depth, rhythmic energy, and contemporary African influences. While his role models have helped shape his musical vision, he continues to carve out a unique identity that reflects his own experiences and perspective.

His growing catalog includes the EP "FATE", a project that represents both artistic maturity and personal reflection. The title itself suggests themes of destiny, purpose, and life's unpredictable journey-concepts that resonate strongly with EHRA's own experiences. Alongside the EP, he has released several singles, including "Jo Riddim," "Zone," "Nobody," "Your Side," and "Tsunami." Each release showcases different dimensions of his artistry, from infectious rhythms and dance-ready energy to introspective lyrics and emotional storytelling.

Beyond the recording studio, EHRA has demonstrated his ability to connect with live audiences. His performances at events such as the Abuja Food Festival and Gasoline Party have allowed him to share his music directly with fans while building his reputation as a dynamic performer. Live performance is often the true test of an artist's ability, and these appearances have contributed to his growth as an entertainer and stage personality.

One of EHRA's greatest strengths is his versatility. In addition to being a recording artist, he is also a Mix and Mastering Engineer and a Video Editor. These skills give him a unique advantage in today's music industry. By understanding both the technical and creative aspects of music production, he has greater control over his artistic vision. This independence enables him to maintain authenticity while continuously refining the quality of his work.

Currently based in Abuja, Nigeria, EHRA operates in one of the country's most vibrant and rapidly growing entertainment hubs. Abuja provides opportunities for networking, performance, collaboration, and exposure, all of which contribute to his ongoing development as an artist.

What makes EHRA's journey particularly inspiring is not merely the music he creates but the mindset he embodies. His story is one of persistence in the face of uncertainty, commitment to continuous learning, and faith in the power of dreams backed by action. Every song, performance, and project represents another step toward fulfilling a larger vision.

As the Afrobeat movement continues to dominate global music conversations, artists like EHRA are helping shape its future. With a solid educational background, diverse creative skills, years of dedication, and an expanding body of work, he stands as an artist with both potential and purpose.

The next chapter of EHRA's career promises growth, innovation, and greater impact. His journey from Makurdi to Abuja, from student to artist, and from dreamer to creator serves as a reminder that success is not an overnight achievement but the result of consistent effort, resilience, and belief in one's calling.

For EHRA, the story is still being written. Yet even now, his path reflects a powerful message: destiny favors those who remain committed to their vision, regardless of the obstacles they encounter. Through his music, creativity, and determination, EHRA continues to build a legacy that is uniquely his own.
